Residence or Work Permit

Form 21 (Bill of Entry) which needs signed only

Passengers Baggage Declaration (Form 47) or Settler's Declaration (Form P 54) depending on size of shipment

Inventory (giving serial numbers for TVs and VCRs)


CUSTOMER MUST BE IN COUNTRY AT TIME OF CUSTOMS CLEARANCE

USED HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS DUTY-FREE IF:

Arriving within six months of Customer

Were owned by Customer for a minimum of six months and are for Customer's own use

Goods are not sold or disposed of while in Malawi

Are in reasonable quantities

Shipments may be inspected


Items owned less than six months

Books/magazines subject to censorship


Firearms are subject to Police Permit

Ammunition

Radio equipment

Pornographic material

Plants/seeds


Value may not exceed K500

One auto per family

Auto must have been owned and used by Customer for a year or more prior to importation or arrival of the Customer and can not be lent or sold within one year of Customs clearance
