Customs Regulation

1. CUSTOMER MUST BE PRESENT AT CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
2. Household goods and personal effects may be imported duty-free for non-residents
3. Items must be for customer's own use not for sale, and must be re-exported at the time of customer's departure from Iceland

Dutiable and Restricted Items

1. Alcohol and tobacco products
2. Fishing equipment, including waders and rubber boots, which have been used abroad, unless such equipment has been disinfected. A certificate of disinfection issued by an authorized veterinary officer will be acceptable.
3. Electronic equipment (only one of each allowed)
4. Musical instruments
5. Books, video and audio cassettes and movies are subject to censorship

Prohibited Items

1. Narcotics and poisons
2. Medicines (except small quantities for personal use)
3. Firearms, weapons and ammunition
4. Uncooked meat, meat and poultry products and dairy products
5. Live animals and birds

Motor Vehicles

1. Autos may be imported, but must be re-exported when the owner's stay in Iceland is over
2. Documents required:

4. International Motor Insurance
5. Owner's Green Card
6. Driver's license valid in Iceland
