Documentation Required

1. Valid Passport of Customer
2. Residence Visa
3. Work Permit
4. Proof of Employment
5. Certificate of Residence Change
6. Permit to import household goods and personal effects
7. Inventory (in SPANISH, legible and three copies)
8. Letter authorizing Destination Agent to clear shipment
9. Original Bill of Lading/Airway Bill

Customs Regulation

1. CUSTOMER MUST BE PRESENT AT CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
2. All shipments inspected
3. Used household goods may be imported duty-free for Hondurans returning after 12 months abroad

Dutiable and Restricted Items

1. New items and electrical appliances (original Purchase Invoice and four copies required)
2. Plants (Quarantine Certificate required)
3. Tobacco products (in limited quantity)

Duty Free Allowance

1. One bottle of hard liquor
2. 1 full carton of cigarettes
3. or 1 lb tobacco
4. or 250 cigars

Prohibited Items

1. Pornographic or subversive literature and films
2. Weapons (sporting firearms and ammunition may be imported with a special permit from the Secretary of Defense and the Treasury Department)
3. Explosives
4. Alcoholic products
5. Drugs

Motor Vehicles

1. Heavily taxed and dutiable
2. Documents required:
3. Original Passport
4. Original Purchase Invoice
5. Document of Ownership (listing make, year, model, serial number, etc.)
6. Original title
7. Duty rates on autos depend on year, cc motor, make and value of the auto. Generally very high.

Animals and Pets

1. Health and Quarantine Certificate required
