Documentation Required
  1. Visa
  2. Letter of transfer from the shipper's employer
  3. "Attestation reservation de cale"
  4. Inventory in French, detailed, valued and signed and dated by the shipper
  5. Insurance Certificate
  6. International Certificate of Vaccination
Dutiable and Restricted Items
  1. Tobacco products
  2. New electrical items are subject to Customs duties and import taxes
  3. Invoices of all electrical items and furniture must be more than six months old
  4. Home computers are not accepted as personal effects and will be subject to Customs duties and import taxes
Prohibited Items
  1. Alcohol and distilling equipment are prohibited and should be sent separately
  2. Weapons, ammunition and military equipment
  3. Drugs and narcotics
  4. Printed matter and audio/video materials
  5. Food
  6. Matches and poisonous substances
Motor Vehicles
  1. Duties are applicable on new cars
  2. RTL (Redevance sur Traitement de Liquidation) tax applies
  3. Documents required for new or used autos:
  4. Original Commercial Invoice
  5. Insurance Certificate
  6. Value Certificate
  7. Document stating vehicle engine capacity
