In order to aid you in moving to Czech Republic we have gathered customs information. We advise you to carefully review the information relating to moving to Czech Republic. You may find more up to date information at your local consulate or embassy. Please note, customs regulations are subject to change at any time. Documentation Required
  1. Passport (copy)
  2. Power of Attorney
  3. Residence Permit
  4. Housing rental contract (usually two year minimum period required)
  5. Inventory signed by Customer (with values) in Czech
  6. Must state make, model and serial number and declare the value of any hi-tech equipment (computers, stereos, etc.)
  7. Antiques, works of art, paintings, etc.: photographs are required for Customs (special clearance may occur)
  8. Letter from employer confirming position of Customer and stating that employer will pay any duties or taxes applicable
  9. Authorization from Customer for Destination Agent to arrange Customs clearance
  10. Bank guarantee of 50% of the total value of the shipment will be requested by the Customs office. The bank guarantee will be returned to the Customer after the export documents, stamped at the border, are hand delivered to the Customs office.
Customs Regulation
  2. Household goods and personal effects are not permitted unless Customer's employer has a license to do business in the Czech Republic
  3. Customer must be accredited and registered with the local authorities in the Czech Republic or he must be employed by a foreign embassy
Dutiable and Restricted Items
  1. New items
  2. Foodstuff
  3. Commercial goods
  4. Alcohol
  5. Wine: 2 liters per person maximum
  6. Spirits: 1 liter per person maximum
  7. Tobacco: 200 cigarettes or 250 grams
  8. Anything above the maximum is subject to duty, VAT and SPD (excise tax).
  9. Tobacco products
  10. Plants will need a FITO Certificate
Prohibited Items
  1. Firearms may only be imported after a gun license has been issued
  2. Weapons
  3. Drugs
  4. Fresh meat
  5. Pornographic material
Motor Vehicles
  1. Autos may be imported and the same requirements apply as with household goods and personal effects
  2. Non personal autos are prohibited
  3. Documents required:

  7. Bank guarantee of security deposit is always required
  8. Purchase invoice
