Documentation Required

1. Inventory (one original and one copy in English, legible with contents of individual cartons specified)
2. Proof of employment

Customs Regulations

1. CUSTOMER MUST BE IN COUNTRY FOR CLEARANCE
2. All shipments inspected

Dutiable and Restricted Items

1. Items less than one year old (including furniture and electrical goods) are subject to import duty
2. Linens, fabrics, rugs, and cosmetics
3. All bicycles new or used are subject to import duty
4. Video tapes and films will be held and screened by the Brunei Censor Board and are subject to import duty
5. All facsimile machines will be held by Telecommunications Department Brunei pending approval and are subject to import duty and license fee
6. Books and magazines (will be held and screened by customs)

Prohibited Items

1. Alcoholic beverages (including beer and wine)
2. Narcotics
3. Pornographic material
4. All weapons including antiques or replicas, BB and toy guns, pellet guns, and ammunition
5. Hand-held radio and transmitting devices

Animals and Pets

1. Import license must be obtained well in advance of arrival
2. Quarantine required, length of time varies depending on country of origin

Motor Vehicles

1. Land Transport and Customs Permit required before auto can be shipped and are subject to import duty
