Documentation Required

1. Passport (must show last entry stamp)
2. Certificate of Change of Residence, Visaed by the Algerian Consulate/Embassy at origin
3. Employment Contract
4. Residence Visa
5. Work Permit
6. Valued Inventory (detailed, in French), consularized
7. For electrical items state make, model and serial number
8. Must state quantity of records, cassettes, tapes and videos
9. Bank Guarantee or Letter of Guarantee
10. Invoice for all electrical appliances

Customs Regulations

1. CUSTOMER MUST BE PRESENT AT CLEARANCE
2. Only one shipment allowed
3. All shipments inspected
4. Household inventory has to be completed

Dutiable and Restricted Items

1. New furniture (less than six months old) and office furniture
2. Foodstuffs (in large quantities)
3. Only one of each appliance duty-free
4. Liquor

Prohibited Items

1. Live plants
2. Pornographic materials
3. Weapons and ammunition
4. Radio equipment (walkie-talkies)
5. Alcohol and tobacco products
6. Drugs
7. Currency and jewelry
8. Political materials

Motor Vehicles

1. Import license required for foreigner. Custom duties assessed.
